Abasyn University Islamabad Campus Signs MoU with Aadam Life Care Physiotherapy Center for Clinical Training

On May 30, 2024, Abasyn University Islamabad Campus (AUIC) and Aadam Life Care Physiotherapy Center (ALC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the clinical training of students from the Department of DPT, Rehabilitation, and Health Sciences. The agreement, which outlines mutual obligations and terms, was signed by Dr. M. Bashir Khan (Vice President, AUIC) and Dr. Maryam Kundi (Manager, ALC). The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr. Laila Jafri (Head of Department, Rehabilitation and Health Sciences), Dr. Zobia Naseem (Senior Lecturer, DPT), Dr. Salma Bibi (Senior Lecturer, DPT), and Dr. Ramsha (Lecturer, DPT). This collaboration aims to enhance the practical training and skill development of AUIC students in the field of physiotherapy.

Abasyn University Islamabad Campus Triumphs at HITEC Olympiad 2024

In a grand Cash Prize Distribution Ceremony, Abasyn University Islamabad Campus (AUIC) was honored as the Champion of the HITEC Olympiad 2024. The event saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Prof. Dr. M. Bashir Khan (Vice President AUIC), Prof. Dr. M. Salik Javaid (Professor at CED), and Mr. Awal Zaman Khan (Additional Registrar), who distributed prizes among the winners and runner-ups. AUIC students excelled, winning more than 15 events, a feat that led to the university being declared the Best University/Champion of the Olympiad. Prof. Dr. M. Bashir Khan congratulated the participants and encouraged them to continue their winning streak in future competitions. Many congratulations to the champions!

Civil Engineering Students Insightful Study Visit to King Hammad University

On May 30, 2024, students from the Civil Engineering Department, 6th and 8th semesters, of Abasyn University Islamabad Campus embarked on a study visit to King Hammad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences in Chak Shahzad. The purpose of the visit was to enhance their understanding of structural engineering principles and practices. Led by Site Engineer Muhammad Nabeel, students were provided with comprehensive insights into the construction techniques, materials, and structural components of the newly constructed building. Accompanying the students were faculty members Faheem Aslam (Lecturer), Mehran Sudheer (Lecturer), and Jahangir Abbas (Lab Engineer), all from the Civil Engineering Department at Abasyn University.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Abasyn University Islamabad Campus and NJ Physio Friends Clinic Islamabad

On May 22, 2024 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Abasyn University Islamabad Campus (First Party) and NJ Physio Friends Clinic Islamabad (Second Party) for the clinical training of students of DPT, Rehabilitation and Health Sciences Department. Both the parties agreed on some mutual obligations and terms and conditions. From AUIC, Dr. M. Bashir Khan (Vice President, AUIC) and from NJ Physio Friends Clinic Dr. Hareem Javed (CEO, NJ Physio Friends Clinic) signed the MoU. On this occasion Dr. Laila Jafri (HoD, Rehab. & Health Sciences Dept.), Dr. Zobia Naseem (Sr. Lecturer , DPT), Dr. Salma Bibi (Sr. Lecturer. DPT) & Dr. Ramsha (Lecturer, DPT) were also present.

Empowering Healthcare through Real World Experience at PIC

The Peshawar Institute of Cardiology was delighted to host undergraduate Doctor of Physical Therapy students and faculty from Abasyn University Islamabad. Under the supervision of Dr. Laila Jafri and Dr. Salma Bibi, the group included Dr. Urba Ashfaq, Dr. Fawad Khan, and Dr. Aqib Ali. The visit aimed to give students practical insights into specialized healthcare operations. Welcomed by PIC Medical, Hospital, and Nursing Directors, the visit began with a presentation by Dr. Usman Farooq PT on PIC services and the role of physiotherapy. Students toured the Ward, Coronary Care Unit, and Outpatient Department, engaging in real-world patient care scenarios. The productive visit provided valuable practical learning experiences for the students future healthcare careers.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore diverse exhibits, interact with experts, and gain insights into the transformative power of herbal formulations. The exhibition also served as a dynamic platform for students to present their innovative projects, receive constructive feedback, and refine their presentation skills. The event concluded with an awards ceremony, where students were recognized for their exceptional contributions with prizes and certificates, celebrating their hard work and dedication to the field of herbal medicine.

AUIC Civil Engineering Students Visit BESTWAY Cement Factory, Jinnah Barrage, and Hydropower Project

The Department of Civil Engineering and Technology at AUIC organized a study visit to the BESTWAY Cement Factory, Jinnah Barrage, and Jinnah Hydropower Project. Led by Prof. Dr. M. Salik Javaid, faculty members Engr. Zee Shan Sameja, Mr. Bilal M. Ismaeil, and Mr. Faizan Zafar, along with students, gained practical insights into cement production, barrage operations, and hydroelectric power generation. At BESTWAY Cement Factory, Mr. Salman and Mr. Ilyas Ali emphasized safety and provided PPEs before guiding the students through the facility. At Jinnah Barrage, Engr. Zia ur Rehman delivered an informative lecture and conducted a field tour. The visit to Jinnah Hydropower Project included briefings by Mr. Bakhtiyar Khan and Mr. Asad on power generation and turbine types. Each instructor received a memento from Prof. Dr. M. Salik Javaid in appreciation.
